System developed to prevent COVID-19 spread at industrial facilities

Finnish-Russian digital solutions provider for heavy industries, Zyfra has developed a comprehensive product to significantly reduce the risk of spread of COVID-19 at the industrial and other facilities.

The system, based on artificial intelligence (AI) and computer vision, allows automatic mask monitoring with the help of video analytics, monitoring of the safe distance between employees and real-time reports about violations. Additional functions like measuring body temperature and alerting employees about a violation of a safe distance are also available.

‘A lot of clients have become concerned about occupational safety. They have started paying attention to solutions that used to be second or even third priorities for digitalisation – those related to staff positioning and supervision over what the staff is doing at any specified moment,’ says Liana Meliksetyan, chief operating officer at Zyfra.

According to her, companies understand that to start working after the lockdown it is necessary to ensure that people contact each other minimally.

“Various industrial safety solutions offered by Zyfra have already been installed in more than 50 companies in Russia and abroad. Nowadays digital solutions allow supervising health status of workers and compliance with occupational safety rules, including those considering protective clothing and equipment.

As a result, we can see that the number of industrial accidents has decreased significantly, so has the amount of repeated violations of work discipline. Staff positioning at a mining company allows prompt responding to incidents – in emergency, it can save human lives,” adds Alexander Belugin, head of computer vision at Zyfra.
