Fastly finds how cyber security strategies suffering as a result of complexity

London, UK – Research released by global edge cloud platform, Fastly, Inc. finds that more than three quarters (76%) of organisations in the UK and Ireland are increasing their cybersecurity spending to protect themselves against future risks. This is despite three in five already feeling their budget is sufficient to protect against the modern threat landscape.

US DoD awards $9bn cloud contracts to AWS, Google, Microsoft, Oracle

Google Support Services LLC, Reston, Virginia (HQ003423D0017), is awarded a hybrid (firm-fixed-price and time-and-materials, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity) contract with a ceiling of $9,000,000,000. Kodiak Robotics secures $50mn contract from US DoD to help automate future ground vehicles

Mountain View, United States – Kodiak Robotics, Inc., a self-driving trucking company, announced it has been awarded a [$49.9 million (€47.54 million)], 24-month United States Department of Defense (DoD) agreement to help automate future U.S. Army ground vehicles led by the Army’s Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV) program. Intel unveiled research fueling its innovation pipeline for keeping Moore’s Law on track to a trillion transistors on a package in the next decade. At IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) 2022, Intel researchers showcased advancements in 3D packaging technology with a new 10x improvement in density; novel materials for 2D transistor scaling beyond RibbonFET, including super-thin material just 3 atoms thick; new possibilities in energy efficiency and memory for higher-performing computing; and advancements for quantum computing.

Micropsi Industries’ AI software MIRAI enable increasingly flexible automation

Micropsi Industries has announced that its artificial intelligence (AI)-based software MIRAI is now compatible with numerous robots produced by FANUC, a supplier of robotics and factory automation in Japan, and its U.S. subsidiary FANUC America. With MIRAI, FANUC customers can now add valuable hand-eye coordination to multiple FANUC industrial and collaborative robots (cobots) to handle difficult-to-automate functions such as cable plugging and assembly.
